How does the DNA Tool relate to the Section 18 Standard required of LAs?
The Section 18 Standard requires LAs to make adequate arrangements for enforcement in accordance with guidance from the HSC. The new Standard is an important underpinning element of the HSE\LA partnership and applies equally to HSE (FOD) and LAs. Maintaining competence and developing staff is an essential part of meeting the standard and providing a consistent approach to health and safety regulation.
