How Does the Great Blue Heron Defend Itself?

The great blue heron eats a variety of aquatic creatures and gets its name from the fact that it is the largest of the herons, with some as tall as 4.5 feet. The height of the great blue heron is one of its greatest defenses. From its perspective, it has a wide field of vision. It is almost impossible to sneak up on this bird since it can turn its head on its long neck and see quickly in every direction for a long way. Its vision is acute, which allows it to wade into the water in search of food, but keep vigilant for danger at the same time.
