How does the house get fresh air? And how does it stay cool in the summer?
An energy recovery ventilator (ERV) attached to the heat pumps constantly provides fresh air from the outside and pushes stale air out. The ERV also controls humidity. In the winter, heat from outgoing air is transferred to incoming air. The opposite process occurs in the summer, cooling the house. The house also can be kept cool with ceiling fans and overhangs that provide shade from summer sun.
