How does the Minotaur connect with Greece?
In the Greek myth of the Labyrinth, the King of Crete refused to sacrifice a beautiful bull to the gods, so his wife fell in love with it; thus, the Minotaur. Daedalus, a brilliant inventor, designed the Labyrinth, a gigantic maze, to entrap the monster forever. However, the king put Daedalus and his son Icarus inside the maze (possibly because they found out about the Minotaur, I can’t say for sure). They used a long string to trace their position, find their way out of the maze, and built artificial wings to fly from the island with. Icarus, not listening to his father’s advice not to fly too high, melts the wax on his wings, and they fall apart and he plummets into the sea. Daedalus manages to escape safely.
