How does the Mountbatten Service fit in with the Macmillan Nurses and the Hospice @Home Team?
We are all managed and based at the Hospice. We liaise with each other to provide a wider community team. The Macmillan Nurses are specialist nurses providing advice, support and symptom management for patients. The H@H service visit patients at home and provide high quality nursing care symptom control and support for families during the final phase of their illness.The Mountbatten Nursing Service is flexible and can spend a period of time day or night giving skilled nursing care and offering a break to families.Finally, What makes the difference?Families will always comment that having a Nurse to stay for part of the day or overnight to care for their loved ones is important in making the difference to often very difficult situations.
