Clinical trials have shown that Healthy Gums is very effective when it comes to reducing supragingival plaque and gingivitis. In a study published in JADA (May 2008), the effectiveness of Healthy Gums rinse was compared to a 0.12 percent CHX rinse for its antimicrobial effectiveness against predominant oral bacteria. Results showed that CHX rinse had the lowest minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC’s) but also that Healthy Gums rinse inhibited the growth of most of the 40 oral pathogens that were tested.
