How does the pendulum work?

There are many theories about this. Perhaps the most popular is that all substances radiate electrical waves which, through practice, become especially concentrated in the body. If we look at the causes of the motion of the pendulum, we have to realise that it cannot move by itself. If you were to hang the pendulum on a fixed stand and wait nothing would happen. Neither the internal energy of the pendulum material, nor the energy of an object brought close to it, cause any movement at all. The technical explanation for the pendulum is that it is an example of ideo-motor signals. The non technical explanation is that it is an example of reading your own tells. What is a tell? Every professional poker player knows about tells and he knows that everyone has them. A tell is some, usually very, very subtle obscure, physical reaction in response to what you are thinking. Typically, in a poker game, a player with a bad hand trying to bluff his way through the game will unconsciously give off some very minor signal as to what he is thinking. Something such as a slight twitch, or blood vessel in the neck pulsating, or maybe a small patch of skin will change color. The pendulum works by reading our subconscious mind, in much the same way a hypnotist can hypnotize a person using subtle suggestions and a pocket watch. For us to see the conscious effect of the pendulum we must be aware of the sleight muscle contractions in our arm, when we ask our question. When we ask a question that we already know the answer to, such as is the earth round? Then we can intentionally think an opposite answer. The pendulum will now swing to our conscious thought, no, the earth is not round. The pendulum can be a very useful tool to determine our subconscious desires over our conscious desires. Eventually we become more and more aware of our subconscious thoughts and we will find that the pendulum only answers what we already know.
