It actually is not an issue for the Pro Football Hall of Fame because each member is immortalized with a bronze bust without their helmet. In Cooperstown, each member is immortalized with a plaque and with their respective baseball cap on their head. So, you do not hear the sports pundits discuss which team a football HOFer represents upon induction.
