Of course, unlike a pool vacuum, the Roomba isn’t dependent on the current and slopes of the pool’s floor. While it may be the next evolution of a similar concept, make no mistake about it: it is an evolution. Able to work on carpets and hardwood floors, it cleans a home with a dexterity and an automatic navigation system. The AWARE System iRobot is the company that manufactures the Roomba. According to its website, the company uses a proprietary system called AWARE to control the robotic vacuum. There are different models of the Roomba, varying considerably in price. What’s the difference? It’s not entirely in the cleaning power. The higher priced models have a more sophisticated and detailed navigation system.
