Student progress can be monitored by communicating with the online teacher to check on a student‘s status in a course. For example, the Site Coordinator or Mentor should communicate with the online teacher regularly on topics such as status of the student’s completion and submission of all required assignments; participation in group projects; and contributions to discussion boards or other classroom discussions. They should also discuss whether or not the student needs any additional assistance and if the student has requested assistance, if needed. After receiving feedback from the online teacher, following up with the student to see if the online teacher’s report matches the student’s perception of their standing in the course can help support student success.
