How does the software interface the panels in a network system?
The interface can occur in several ways. One way is through a standard RS232 serial connection. For connections greater than 25 feet we have a PAK that converts the RS232 to RS485, which extends the distance up to 3000 feet. Another way is through a phone line using a modem-equipped controller for a SNET or an external modem for the ENET system. With the optional IP controller you can connect via TCP/IP over a local network or a wide area network.
