How does this ministry work with local crisis pregnancy centers?
In Louisville, there is a crisis pregnancy center across the street and right next door to the abortion clinic. Thus, our aim as sidewalk counselors is to get the women into these crisis pregnancy centers so that they can receive a free ultrasound, be offered alternatives to abortion, hear the Gospel, and be exposed to how many resources there are available to them (i.e. maternity homes, baby and maternity clothes, etc). It is when a woman gets into a crisis pregnancy center that she can sit down with a counselor and share what is leading her to have the abortion. If a woman does agree to a free ultrasound, she is far more likely not to have an abortion. Therefore, the first thing we say is “Would you like to get a free ultrasound before you go through with your abortion procedure?” Crisis pregnancy centers typically situate themselves next to abortion clinics around the nation.
