How does turning on a cars headlights before starting the engine help in cold weather?

I’m quite sure that the routine is to turn off lights before starting. Then again the Swedish cars in Sweden have the headlights on the moment you switch on the ignition. A set of headlight would be rated at least 55 watts X2. So that is quite a bit of power going to the lights. The starter would need at least 100amps minimum to crank from dead start and the amp would then load fall, when it spins. Even than, you need a mighty lot of amps. Logically, if your lights are switched on and your battery is not strong, the lights would become dim when the starter is cranked. You may not even be able to start! Imagine in cold weather, you would need every last ampere to crank that cold engine.

To be honest, I have no idea because I don’t do this and I don’t know anyone who turns on the car headlights before starting the engine. Well, the only thing I know you should do before starting the engine, is to turn on the ignition, you know all those indicators that appear on your car display before the start, they show your car is alright or not. Visit gearboxy.com if you want to find more about how a car engine works. Believe me, you won’t be disappointed.

I’ll explain the situation to you. You should understand that a bit of stress on a cooled battery pack really benefits you. And we are talking about any car models: both the 50s and 60s, as well as modern ones. We turn on the high beam for 3-5 seconds and then boldly turn the ignition key. I also recommend cleaning the battery terminals. I tell you, as a person with experience, I am not afraid to use reference materials, like cararac. As for the airports, ordinary distilled water is suitable for it. Just pour a little water on the terminals and wait for about half an hour. Then all the scale is quite easily removed with a rag.

Thank you for explaining!
