There are three types of security that can be implemented on a VG Hub. • Eavesdrop Prevention • Aliasing Prevention • Identity Enforcement The following sections address each of these issues. It is important to note that these security features are specific to the AT&T RMAC chip set which was licensed from Hewlet Packard. Currently, only AT&T sells RMAC chips and all the hubs available use this chip set. While support for these features is built into the AT&T RAMC, it does need a little help from a CPU that controls the hub, so it is possible that not all VG hubs support these features. It is also possible that these features will not be present or will be implemented in a different way in RMAC chips from other manufacturers when they become available.
