How does vvvv differ from other VJ tools like Arkaos, Touch or MotionDive?
VVVV was not designed as a VJ software. Rather it is a modular toolkit which can be used to create high performance multimedia applications. It´s structure allows it to be extremely flexible and it is no surprise that many VJs use it to explore generative visuals or develop their own unique visual style. VVVVs rendering framework was developed in order to use the latest DirectX hardware. With this technology most of the rendering duties can be moved to the graphics card, so you can draw a huge amount of graphical objects while keeping a very high frame rate. This makes vvvv suitable for generating realtime animations for television broadcast applications.
