How early can a baby be born and still survive?

22 wks is the absolute earliest and chances for one that premature aren’t good at all. If they survive, they will likely suffer from some sort of disability (disabilities).Doctors attept to get women who are carrying multiples to 32 wks. At 32 wks (or beyond), the prognosis for a premature child becomes much more positive. They are less likely to suffer from permanant neurological, physical or mental disorders. Anytime before then and a child has a much higher chance of suffering permanant disabilities or death. I think everyone has those “first-time-mother jitters”… try not to worry or think about those things. More likely than not you’ll go a few days past your due date! Good luck and congratulations.

The earliest a baby has survived on record is 21weeks or 22Weeks, typically though with medical intervention the earliest is 24weeks although there have been cases of some surviving who have been born at 22 and 23weeks and most premies go onto have a normal life with no or very little problems
