Home depot and lowes give great classes in this. The main tool is the tile saw. Floor tile can be cut in straight lines with a simple tile cutter, but you will need a tile saw to make corner cuts. If you have curved or tricky borders to work around, it makes the tile cutting more complicated. Planning is the key, with any job. Decide how you want the tile to look, buy the tile, tools, and supplies, and set aside a lot of time. You lay out the tile first, and cut all of the tiles that need to be cut first. This takes the most time. Once all the tiles are cut and placed, you mix the thin-set (cement). You pick up a section of the tiles, and lay the cement with a notched trowel. Be careful not to paint yourself into a corner. Lay the tiles on the cement, and do the next section. Let it set overnight. Now you are ready to grout.
