How effective is locust treatment?
Locust treatment can be extremely effective, particularly if it is undertaken at the correct time when locusts are immature and in the “banding” stage. Treatment is less effective in treating swarming locusts. Arial swarm control is also generally very inefficient. Past campaigns have shown that for every $1,000 spent controlling locusts, at least $20,000 worth of crops and pastures have been saved.
