How effective is Natural Family Planning in avoiding pregnancy?
The number of pregnancies among one hundred couples in one year who are taught well, understand the method, are clear about family planning intention, and carefully follow all the rules for avoiding pregnancy all the time experience only 1- 4 pregnancies. Couples who occasionally do not follow all the rules for avoiding pregnancy experience 5 – 25 out of 100 couples annually. Generally, these latter rates of effectiveness are similar to those found among couples using barrier methods of contraception.
