How environmental factors can effect the germination and the growth of plants?
The obvious–most seeds need moisture (rain) and warmth to germinate. They will not germinate if environmental conditions are dry or cold. Many plants require a certain amount of sunlight; their growth will slow during periods of extended cloud cover. Increased light results in increased growth. For the same reason, plants in areas covered with ash from erupting volcanoes will die, although in that instance they also smother. Growth will also slow or the plants will die in periods of drought.
