Depends what you want. If you have the experience you can pick up an ex racer Arab at the sales at certain times of the year, for a well trained riding horse just for hacking and local shows a few grand, up to 15000+ for show and breeding horses. Arabs are no different from any other breed…they come in all qualities and prices. If you want a riding horse you should look out for French or Crabbet Arabs, these tend to be less flighty than the show sorts, and sometimes cheaper. As for keeping horses, an Arab is no different from any other. UK costs: Livery: £20 a week grass keep, £40-60 a week DIY livery depending on where you are…land around cities is more expensive. Hay: £10 a week (ish) if your horse is stabled part of the day, and in winter when the grass is poor.
