How far was the great depression the main reason for the Nazis rise to power?

The main reason the Nazis were able to come to power was because the French didn’t try to stop Hitler when he came to power. The great depression contributed a little to their ability to come to power, but not as much as you would think. Because of the great depression though, most of the world was in a bad state, including Germany, but since Hitler was a great public speaker, and he knew what to say to the people, he and the Nazis were able to come to power. If France had just attempted to stop Hitler when he started his conquest for Europe, the Nazis would have been stopped, and WWII would not have started.
