How good are the installers the home centers use?
The home centers subcontract to one individual company. That company employs other subs. Yes the owner of that company can probably pass a drug test. He probably doesn’t install and probably doesn’t have A CFI diploma. A few of his crews might. All in all you don’t have any idea who is coming to your home. It is tough enough for me with 37 years of experience to stay on top of installation. Can you imagine having literally directing 10 2 man crews every day. Heck I direct 2 and my hands are full. Do your installers use good seaming materials and stretch the carpet the correct way? Brandon just told me this week that the seam tape he uses is over $8 per roll. To give you an idea of those prices…home centers have sales on seam tape for $3.50 p/roll.
