The top schools are leaning more towards five years now. The kind of work you do is important. Working for a top company is good. Working overseas is good. Working for a start-up could be good if you frame it correctly. Good recommendations from people who actually know you. Your admissions essays and interview are critical. Dress in business attire for the interview. Your undergraduate major doesn’t matter. But the quality of the school you went to does matter.
