How has NIIT tackled the current slowdown in the global IT industry ?
After a long period of hyper-growth, one realises that a brief slowdown of the IT industry worldwide was inevitable. This correction is bringing in strong elements of realism, with customers and investors being far more demanding and selective. In that sense, the slowdown will be good for the fundamentally strong companies, which are long-term players in the industry. But since IT has now become so fundamental in every walk of life, we will see strong growth in this sector as the revival sets in a few quarters down the line. Even today, if you aggregate the shortage of IT skills, it is quite high. So if one has to step back a little and recognise the reality in a three-year or five-year timeframe, then this current aberration appears small.
