A – As a signatory to Kyoto, Panama has embraced the Clean Development Mechanism and is already generating carbon credits through the operation of a range of hydro electricity projects, which would not have been economically feasible without the existence of the CDM. Panama welcomes investors who can help to finance CDM projects and we are hopeful that there will soon be projects in place which generate carbon credits through other methodologies.
