How historically actuate is the movie “Troy”?
Its difficult to say because even today it is hard to prove what actual events really did happen during the Trojan War. A man named Heinrich Schliemann apparently dug up the city of Troy – and since a lot of artifacts from what was in Homer’s literature were found, people started to believe the myth about the Trojan War. There has been a lot of evidence of destruction in the earth in that area where Troy was supposed to be, and there has been evidence that the Trojans did in fact have relations with the Greeks. There has been a huge debate on this topic because a lot of scholars and historians believe the war did happen, and others think that the poems of Homer were just exaggerated for the sake of literature. There is still a huge open debate on whether the story of Troy did actually happen – there is proof however there are not many concrete facts that can support the entire story – so it is basically just considered mythology.
