This applies to F-Secure Anti-Virus for Microsoft Exchange 7.0. The possibility of having F-Secure Content Scanner Server on a dedicated server was discontinued with F-Secure Anti-Virus for Microsoft Exchange version 7.0. F-Secure Content Scanner Server is the scanning component in the product. Starting from version 7.0, the whole product must be installed on the Microsoft Exchange Server 2007. Having the F-Secure Content Scanner Server on the same server with the Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 improves the scanning performance, as the scanning can be done in memory without need to transfer the data through the network and save on the disk.
