How important are prenatal vitamins during pregnancy?
If you eat three well-balanced meals (see BabyPartner’s Guide to Diet & Nutrition), you will not need to take any vitamin supplements. Many women are unable to do so for a variety of reasons: food cravings, morning sickness, too busy etc.). If this is the case for you, prenatal vitamins can be beneficial supplement to your diet. They should never be regarded as a substitute for a well-balanced diet.
