How important is forgiveness and kindness and why has islam failed to promote these cardinal values?
Those things are so important, but not in Islam. Jesus told us to profess our sins to each other, This way we can ask for forgiveness and others can give it to us. Islam teaches the total opposite – don’t talk about your sins. Jesus said we will be forgiven as we have shown forgiveness. Love is the core principle of Christianity. Jesus’ 2 commands were of love, love for God and love for each other. In Islam, it’s fear and submission. Jesus prevented a woman from being stoned to death, making the people realize they had no right because we all do things that are wrong. He told her to sin no more. That’s mercy and forgiveness. Jesus saves!
