How important was it for Strikeforce to pick up where Elite XC left off with Showtime and CBS?
JT: I think it’s great they took over and got the fighters from Elite XC. I’m excited about the fact that they will be on Showtime. You have guaranteed TV and a certain number of fans going to see you fight. What’s not to be excited about? The type of fights that Strikeforce puts on will showcase that this is not an Elite XC show or the crappy fights that they put on. That’s why their business went under. Scott Coker has a very good thing going. He knows how to promote fights, from kickboxing to K-1 to this. He knows what works in the sport and then he has somebody like Javier Mendez matchmaking and making the fights happen. He knows what fights will make great fights in MMA. If there is one thing that Javier knows about, it’s MMA fighting. They have top 10 fighters in every division.
