What the stimulus bill did is finally equalize the playing field. In 2008, $25.5 billion was given to coal, oil, nuclear and natural gas industries, compared to less than $2 billion for renewable energy. The stimulus bill reverses that. It says ‘No, oil, gas, coal and nuclear are maturing industries that can live on their own. We’re going to help renewable energy.’ It shows us a lot of respect, not only that we need the same incentives that those industries got for decades. But it also says that we’re going to fund this by 2016 because you won’t need this after 2016, which I think is fair. What’s your takeaway on the solar industry? If you look at jobs numbers in Washington D.C., you’ll see energy efficiency and renewable energy produced more jobs in the last 12 months than any other industry. We’re actually creating jobs now.
