How is a one way mirror different than a two way mirror?

A one way mirror and two way mirror is the same thing. It is just that many refer to a two way mirror as a “one way” mirror since you either see a mirror or a window depending upon the lighting conditions. A one way mirror is really a conventional everyday mirror where the reflective layer is applied under the first surface and often an extra coat is applied to ensure all of the light is reflected through the first surface glass. A one way mirror is used only for a reflection and you cannot see through it when you try to look through the back side or second layer.
