How is checkers related to math?
Everything in the world is related to math in one way or another. For example, logic and strategy, both needed in checkers, are related to math. Planning is related to math. The shape of the board and the playing pieces are related to geometry. Consider the different openings that you could use in playing the game – there are statistics related to each opening play on the chances of winning the game with that opening. There are all kinds of other statistics involved such as the chances of getting pieces across the board and getting kings, the chances of winning with a certain number of pieces (probability), etc. The number of squares on the board can be connected to math. Anything in this world that you can mention is related to math. You just have to look for it.
