How is DirecTV’s reception (picture quality and reliability during bad weather), customer service, prices?

I am in Southern California and the picture quality is great since all channels are braodcast in Digital, as far as when the weather gets bad I have only had it go out maybe 3 times ever for about 10 minutes at a time when the rain came down so hard that it blocked out the sattelite feed for a few minutes. It was not very bad ever, I had Digital cable previously and it either went out a few times a day for a few minutes or pixilated the shows a few times each movie/show. So DirecTVs signal was a 100% improvement if you compare it to cable. Now comparing it to Dish I still think the normal picture quality may be better than Dish’s since Dish is not ALL digital quality signals.
