How is embalming done?

0

Embalming is done by draining most of the blood from the body and injecting embalming fluid through the arteries. It is done with a machine and takes about 1 to 1-1/2 hours to complete. It can’t be done if the body is in rigormortis. Embalming will sometimes wash away the natural colors of the body so dyes may be used to restore a more natural color back to the skin. Embalmers are required by OSHA to wear full body covering and a respirator because the embalming fluids are so toxic!
