He wrote Porgy and Bess, Rhapsody in Blue, An American in Paris…You’re bound to have heard at least one of his and Ira’s songs before. If you saw Take the Lead, with Antonio Banderas, all of the classic songs that the kids hated were from him. You should really read that section in your history book, or at the very least his Wikipedia page, he’s a fascinating character.
