How is granite polished by nature?
Rock tumblers reproduce this effect by tumbling (friction) rocks in a large cylinder with water. Several weeks in a rock tumbler can replicate hundreds of years of natural erosion. You are most likely to see natural polishing of granite on cliff faces where water drips down, waterfall edges, and stream beds.
