How is my Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) calculated?

0

Your COLA is calculated as a percentage of your base pension. For the first 12 months you receive 2% of your annual base pension. The next 12 months you receive 4% of your base pension. The increase continues until you reach the maximum percentage defined by your contract (or the ordinance). Once you reach the maximum, you continue to receive that amount of COLA for the rest of your lifetime.
