NGA is working with Ft. Belvoir, the Federal Highway Administration’s (FHwA) Eastern Federal Lands Division, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) to ensure the transportation infrastructure necessary to support an 8,500-person workforce is in place and functioning in time for deployment to the NGA Campus East (NCE). All road projects required by NGA are currently funded. The Department of Defense (DoD) has allocated $47 million for Defense Access Road improvements for the Fort Belvoir North Area (FBNA). Improvements include additional ramps from the Fairfax County Parkway, new direct access from I-95 South and the Fairfax County Parkway and direct access from the I-95 High Occupancy Vehicle/High Occupancy Toll lanes. VDOT, FHwA and the Army are working in a partnership to build these road improvements.
