How is Periodontist diagnosed?
The dental profession is able to detect Periodontal disease when in its earliest form. Probing the space between the gum and tooth using a millimeter gauge indicates the presence or absence of disease. Bleeding on probing, suppuration and depth greater than 4 mm usually indicates the presence of Periodontist. Radiographs show the bone level around the teeth and are used to assist the diagnosis.
