How is someone who is wise beyond their years supposed to gain respect among their elders?

Respect is gained through humility. A wise person understands that he/she has much that he/she does not know or understand. A wise person does not judge others for their beliefs, even if he/she in his/her wisdom believes that he/she is in the right. A wise person listens more than he/she speaks. So, respect among elders requires a humble attitude and a lot of wisdom. And a truly humble person does not harbor any feeling of superiority or judgment towards those he/she feels are wrong. Who knows, the wise young man/woman might be the one who is mistaken.
