How is student achievement assessed?
Students in K-3 will be screened using the DIBELs to provide the teacher with a beginning assessment of the student’s reading proficiency. Students working below grade level will be assessed using the PASI and PSI to obtain a detailed picture of the full range of a student’s knowledge and skill so that instruction can be more precisely planned. Progress monitoring assessments such as the FAIR and 4 Sight are administered to students in grades 2-5, three times during the school year and provide information about the student’s progress in learning to read proficiently. The FCAT is administered to students in Grades 3-5. This Criterion-Referenced Test (CRT), measures selected benchmarks in Mathematics, Reading, Science, and Writing from the Sunshine State Standards (SSS).
