How Is Teenage Pregnancy Caused?
The same way that ‘regular’ pregnancy happens. When a sperm and egg meet and the egg is fertilized by the sperm. This happens within 12-24 hours of ovulation, and if sperm are present which can be up to 3-4 days before ovulation, or in rare cases up to 7 days before ovulation (if conditions are optimal for sperm to survive that long). Menstruation will follow 14 days after ovulation unless of course conception occurred and a period will be missed. This is when you would take a pregnancy test.
