How is the BAP administered and scored?
The BAP is a self-report instrument. It takes approximately an hour to complete. Administration by secretary or nurse requires no professional time or training. Two options are available for scoring the BAP: 1. BAP Software: The BAP is scored using the menu-driven scoring and can be optically scanned or manually entered. The 17-page profile report is printed within a matter of minutes at your facility. 2. Mercury Scoring: Mail answer sheets to Pain Assessment Resources ( PAR ) for scoring. The BAP’s are scored and Clinical Profiles are mailed back to you the same day the tests are received. This option requires little or no staff time and is simple and convenient.
