The Lady of Shalott is a mood poem because the story is about the lady Shalott where she could only stay at the island(prison) and she could go no where. Since she knew she’s being cursed. Until one day, she said she is sick of this, she decided to look out the mirror. She sees Sir Lancelot, but she is not allowed to look out because of the curse. However, in the end she jumps on the boat to Camelot and wrote her name on the boat(hoping that people could notice her) until her death. Tennyson wrote this to express at Victorian times, people are obssesed with science and technology but does not respect art. He also asserted that no body could understand the importance of art, because to people art could not bring people success or progress.
