How is the sponge/soap holder & dish meant to be used?

This product can be used in several ways depending on what is most appropriate for you. A. You can use the top shelf just to hold a sponge in which case the bottom dish acts as a drip tray. B. You can use the top shelf as described above but use the bottom dish to hold diluted soap solution. Just add some concentrate and fill two-thirds with water. When you hand wash dishes, set aside the top shelf so that you can dip into the soap solution conveniently. After washing, rinse and squeeze the sponge before placing it back on the top tray so that it does not drip into the bottom tray. C. You can use the top shelf to hold a bar of soap and the bottom dish as a drip tray.
