How is yeast used to make beer/wine?
Yeast, a unicellular organism, is used in fermentation under controlled conditions in order to produce desired results. For beer and wine that desired result is ethyl alcohol, natural chemical flavors and aromatics, and to alter the product to become relatively biologically stable.
