How late will the Commons be staffed? Will the area be available after regular library hours, or is there concern for the security of the equipment?
• The IC will be staffed but at this time it is unclear for how many hours. We are looking at perhaps a combined (OIT/LIB) staffing operation that will give the most coverage for basic services and general oversight. Reference or research, technical, instructional or consultation needs will be worked out as we see what our students and faculty require. • The computers will be available all the hours that the first and second floors are open. OIT has had no problem with security since they have been in this building and are very comfortable putting them in an open space. The Libraries have public computers on every floor now and it has not been a problem. The problems occur in those WAM Labs are isolated, without staff.
