How long can a baby survive after falling into water?

It takes 10 seconds to drown. Not long at all. If your baby has been under water best to get him/her checked, ironically you can drown even after coming out of the water from the effects of swallowing water.

It only takes a few seconds, and a tiny bit of water for a baby to not survive. You dont leave a child alone in a tub ever.

I think a baby can survive for maybe a minute or even two before serous stress & trouble would result. Brain damage occurs in about 5 minutes in adults depending on water temperature….I would guess that babies have a slightly quicker than Adults because their hearts beat much faster.. …babies automatically hold their breath under water….the are kind of used to being in fluid as that is their state in the womb. It’s called the mammalian reflex and all mammals do it. When teaching your child to swim you can see how it happens by splashing a bit of water on the face….(cold water works a bit better…) Obviously if your child has fallen in for more than a little while without being seen you should go to a doctor to make sure the lungs are clear…no fluids inhailed. But in teaching to swim…its best not to introduce the idea of stress while the kid is under water. You gradually dunk them and eventually you can dunk them for 5 or 10 seconds without causing a stressful reaction. (st
